Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026 ย ยทย Effective immediately upon publication
NourishWorth (โweโ, โusโ, or โourโ) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the NourishWorth platform โ including our website at https://nourishworth.com and our mobile applications (together, the โServiceโ).
Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service you acknowledge that you have read and understood it. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create a NourishWorth account we collect information you provide directly, including your display name, email address, and country. If you sign in using a third-party provider such as Google, we receive the profile information that provider shares with us in accordance with your settings on that provider.
We also store account settings and preferences you configure within the Service, such as your preferred display currency, unit preference (metric or imperial), and language.
1.2 Food DNA and Personalisation Signals
NourishWorth builds a personalised food profile we call your โFood DNAโ. This is not genetic information. It is a record of your food preferences, cuisine interests, likes, dislikes, avoidances, and dietary preferences โ including allergies, intolerances, and health-related food requirements โ that you provide or that we infer from your interactions with the Service.
Food DNA signals are used to personalise food recommendations, restaurant suggestions, and other food-related experiences within the Service. Only confirmed consumption and explicit interactions are eligible to influence your Food DNA โ unconfirmed scanner guesses or cancelled actions do not affect it.
1.3 Food, Drink, Nutrition, and Body Information
When you use the food logging, meal tracking, or nutrition features of the Service, we collect information about the foods and drinks you log, including meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, drink), portion sizes, and associated nutrition data where available. We also store your nutrition goals, daily intake summaries, progress information, and body metrics you provide such as height, weight, age, and activity level where used to calculate nutritional targets.
Nutrition information may be sourced from our Food Graph database, third-party food databases, or entered manually by you. Where nutrition data is incomplete or unavailable, it is recorded as unknown rather than as zero. NourishWorth is not a medical-record platform and does not provide medical diagnoses.
1.4 Hydration Information
If you use the hydration tracking features, we collect information about water and beverage consumption you log, including volume and drink type. Plain water is recorded separately from other beverages. We may also store your hydration goals and daily hydration summaries.
1.5 Location Information
With your permission, we may access your device's location to provide location-relevant features such as nearby restaurant discovery and local food suggestions. You may also manually select a location or country within the Service. You can deny or revoke device location permission through your device settings at any time; doing so may limit certain location-based features.
NourishWorth does not continuously track your location in the background.
1.6 Food Scanner Information
The Service includes a food and drink scanner that may use your device camera or barcode scanning capability. When you use the scanner, images or barcode data you submit are processed to identify food or drink items. Scanner results are presented to you for review and confirmation before anything is added to your food log โ unconfirmed results are not persisted.
Camera image analysis: When you submit a camera image for food analysis, NourishWorth processes the image to provide the requested analysis. Images are transmitted from your device to our servers and are not permanently retained beyond what is necessary to return the analysis result. Where applicable, NourishWorth may use third-party technology service providers to assist with image or food analysis. Images are never transmitted directly from your device to any third-party provider โ they pass through our servers only.
Barcode lookups: Barcode data is matched against our Food Graph database and third-party food databases. No image is transmitted for barcode-only scans.
Where scanner analysis is uncertain, results are presented with appropriate confidence indicators rather than as definitive facts.
1.7 Restaurant and Place Information
NourishWorth uses third-party place and business data providers to offer restaurant and food discovery features. When you search for or interact with restaurants, we may process your search queries and location to retrieve relevant results. We do not permanently store third-party restaurant data on your behalf beyond what is necessary to display results and personalise recommendations.
1.8 Technical and Usage Information
We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Service, including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, session identifiers, and application logs. This information is used for security, fraud prevention, error monitoring, and improving the Service. We may also use cookies or similar technologies as described below.
1.9 Grocery and Shopping Information
When you use the grocery and shopping features of the Service, we collect information about items you add to your shopping list, products you search for or interact with, and retailers you browse. Shopping list data is stored in your account and is not shared with retailers or third parties without your action. Meal-plan-to-shopping-list conversions are processed server-side and stored as part of your account data.
1.10 AI Interaction Information
Where the Service provides AI-assisted features such as meal planning suggestions or food recommendations, your requests and relevant context (such as your Food DNA profile, dietary preferences, and nutrition goals) may be transmitted to AI providers including OpenAI and Google (Gemini) to generate responses. AI providers process this data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not share your full personal profile with AI providers โ only the contextual information necessary to generate a relevant response.
1.11 Creator and Business Account Information
If you register as a recipe creator or business operator (restaurant, supermarket, or similar), we collect additional information relevant to your business account, including business name, business type, contact details, and content you submit such as recipes, menus, and product listings. Business account information is used to operate the relevant business features of the Service and may be displayed publicly where you have published content.
